On November 25, the French Embassy in Canada hosted the 17th L’Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" Fellowship Ceremony. On this occasion, Ms. Ruby Heap, Co-Chair of the France-Canada Innovation Platform and the France Canada Research Fund (FCRF), presented the fellowships to the two 2019 L’Oréal-FCRF awardees.
Since 2013, the France Canada Research Fund has partnered with L’Oréal Canada to foster and strengthen scientific and academic exchanges between France and Canada across all fields of knowledge, from pure sciences to humanities and social sciences.
Established in 2000 by the French Embassy in Canada and a consortium of 20 Canadian universities, the FCRF is a key instrument of Franco-Canadian scientific cooperation. Over its 19 years of existence, the Fund has supported more than 300 joint research projects. Today, with 20 member universities, it continues to fund around 20 new projects each year, supporting French and Canadian teams that have never collaborated before.
