2025 CALL FOR PROJECTS

Accelerating health innovation

Created in 2020, In2novation is a France-Canada innovation program funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED). Its mission is to foster synergies between the French and Canadian innovation ecosystems to accelerate the development of innovative and technological solutions to global challenges.

In2novation is launching a call for projects to support research and development (R&D) collaborations between France and Canada in health technologies (health tech). This call is open to innovative start-ups and research laboratories looking to develop cutting-edge solutions with strong societal impact.

This call for projects is part of the France-Canada dialogue on research, led by the France-Canada Joint Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation. It aligns with the activities of the Health Research Working Group, co-led by Udice (France) and U15 (Canada).

France-Canada Cooperation

As part of intergovernmental scientific cooperation between France and Canada, a working group was formed to develop a framework for collaboration in health research. This program is open to researchers from all institutions in both countries. Through a cross-cutting approach, the program encourages any interconnected approach to address major global health challenges.Comité mixte France-Canada sur la science, la technologie et l'innovation. Objectifs de l'appel à projets

  • AI and diagnosticsentre les écosystèmes d'innovation français et canadien.
  • Production processes and clinical trials en facilitant les collaborations stratégiques.
  • Remote monitoring and digital healthen santé.

Selection criteria and procedure

In2novation will fund during

  • 2 projects involving a Canadian company and a French research teamet approches technologiques pour l'amélioration des soins et l'élaboration de thérapies innovantes et des biothérapies.
  • 2 projects involving a French company and a Canadian research team: développement d'outils basés sur l'IA pour améliorer la précision et l'efficacité des diagnostics médicaux.
  • Procédés de production et développement : utilisation de données pour accélérer la mise sur le marché de nouvelles solutions (essais cliniques).
  • Télésurveillance et santé numérique : développement d'outils connectés pour le suivi des patients à distance et l'amélioration de la prise en charge.

Funded activities

  • 25, 000 CAD Financing a research internship in a company and/or in a laboratory
  • Residency for entrepreneurs at the partner university
  • Development of a proof of concept
Selection process
  • Le projet doit associer au moinsInformational webinar
  • L’une des entités doit être issue duSubmission of a letter of intent (until May 31, 2025)(start-up, entreprise, centre d’innovation) tandis que l’autre doit l’être du secteur académique.
  • Les partenaires soumettent Matching with a research teamavec des retombées concrètes dans le domaine de la santé.
  • Submission of applications (September 2025):
  • Les projets doivent correspondre à un niveau de Selection of projects (December 2025):
    entre 2 et 7.

À noter que :
Le projet doit être déposé par l’entreprise durant une première phase de manifestation d’intérêt ;
Le dossier de candidature doit être déposé par le binôme start-up/groupe de recherche, une fois constitué ;
La subvention sera versée au partenaire académique qui l’administrera.
